Venture Crew #71
The Defiance County Fish and Game is also home to Boy Scouts of America Shooting Sports Venturing Crew 71. Sponsored by the Defiance County Fish and Game Board of Directors this organization membership is open to young adults, both male and female, between the ages of 14 and 20. Active participation in classes on different types of firearms, firearms safety, firearms maintenance, shooting doctrine, target acquisition, proper use of various sights, outdoor skills, trap and skeet shooting are just a few topic explored by this group.
Several archery shooting disciplines with various equipment, clothing, and safety are being planned for 2009. Members receive active range time and are allowed to shoot at each meeting as time permits.
Venturing Crew 71 is a youth run organization with active adult advisors.
